so Inktober came and went. I haven't even posted all my inktobers yet haha. I find it's easier to just scan and post everything in bulk, so I'll be spamming soon. I'm also participating in Inktober on another site, where we're allowed 1 extra week to complete the challenge, and I'm taking that week haha... and I caught a cold so I'm lowkey dying here.
As for this year's Inktober, I will say I kinda regret not following a prompt list. I thought I'd think of stuff but I ended up sitting around uninspired most of the time. Plus I found a ton of great lists... So next year I'll probably pick a Goretober list and stick to it. I'm all for suggestions, too - throw them at me! Preferably Goretober, but anything about characters is fine.
What I don't regret is expanding my personal theme a little. I did revert to drawing a lot of Helix again, but I still did some stuff for Soren's story, which is what I wanted to do.
So that's my Inktober. How was yours? Hopefully more productive than mine... xD
It's that time of year again I will be attempting Inktober once more, with emphasis on attempt. I haven't been around DA much, been doing lab reports and commissions. I won't promise that I'll be more active cuz I'm sure I won't. Gonna try and get an internship researching viruses and vaccines. Working on commissions in the mean time.
Anyway, maybe Inktober will be my break from all the rushing around. I'll be sticking with the usual theme - story concepts and characters, cuz I sure as hell don't know what else to draw. my friends who are also doing Inktober are going to redraw old art and characters, so I may do that too. It would be interesting to look back at my old characters who got cut from my stories. I'll be honest, I miss some of them.
See you all again soon, and feel free to share your Inktober plans/goals
I'll update this journal again at the end of Inktober.

Slithering onward to darker places
There are links to my active profiles in my bio. I keep it up-to-date. No, I'm not leaving DA, but I'm not going to be active either. For the past however many months, I've only logged on to fave a thing or two, maybe leave a simple comment, then vanish. Nothing holds me here anymore. Not even nostalgia. More importantly, I'm staying afloat by taking commissions. DA has always been a shitty place to take commissions, so I had to expand to other platforms for that. Namely FurAffinity, there's a link to my FA in my bio. And finally, I'm drawing things I enjoy drawing, including the really nasty stuff. Things I can't post to most places. So I looked around and found some places that allow the filth that I create. There aren't many, but one of them is SubscribeStar. Another link to that in my bio. Be warned that it is pretty nasty, but sometimes that's the point. Anyone who demands what artists can or can't make is just a dictator. Me and my wife put up with enough authoritarian
Commissions Open
Hey all, I'll be opening commissions. Me and my fiancee got hit with a bad case of the 2020. All her money was stolen. All we have left is our jobs and my emergency savings. Between work and sleep, we will both do commissions to rebuild our funds. I'll draw pictures like the ones below for $50 each. Or I can do sketches for less, PM for details. I draw a lot of things, nsfw or sfw, please PM if you are interested. My fiancee will draw anything for $5 due to the emergency. Her profile can be found here: @RedCyclon Anything helps, even a reblog. ;u; Thank you for reading, please stay safe out there.
Art? art trades?? things???
(don't tell anyone it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to make a new journal holy shit eclipse makes me feel stupid) anyway I ordered a new tablet cable! Turns out the old one still works and I can use my tablet...if I hold the cable at the right angle. there are bite marks on the cable so I know who the culprit is. well, there's 4 options, but they are cats so they are all equally guilty. new cable is braided and I'm excited and I want to draw again because I keep seeing amazing Warframe fanart and I wanna draw all my frames and then feel bad that my art/ideas aren't as good as everybody else :D and I also thought, I'm not doing commissions anymore, so maybe I can do art trades?? but only with very patient people. :'D I should be doing more art than video games, but I keep feeling bad about art and choosing video games instead, it's rough. maybe i can break the cycle with an art trade. anyway comment if you're interested don't be shy
if i'm being forced to use Eclipse...
....can i get a version that's not fucking broken? i came here to appreciate art, and instead i just find myself battling a hollow website coded with empty promises and the tears of under-paid web designers. i really had high hopes for Eclipse but the more I saw it, the more I realized it looks good on paper but performs like shit and provides as much functionality as wet 1-ply toilet paper. are my comics even readable? maybe it's just me but my pages are only viewable in two forms: zoomed out so far it can't be read, or zoomed in so much you can see up the asscrack of individual pixels. what's this "1 min read" thing on my journal? is this website really telling me how fast to read my journal entry? what happens if I keep typing? is it assuming I'm a fast reader? cuz I sure as hell ain't. and most importantly: what is the point? anyway I have some stuff to post but I'm not really in the mood to post my art to a website that dictates how big or small my art should be, and I'm not

Inktober almost friggin' slaughtered me this year lmao, towards the end of the month it got to be a real grind!! I feel like I was the opposite in that I kept with the prompt list for most of the month... but fell off towards the end 'cuz I just couldn't come up with stuff that matched. I do like the official inktober prompts in general since they're pretty vague/up for interpretation, they're better than a lot of other prompts I've seen hahaha.
Good luck finishing up your Inktober!!! *0*
